Provincial GEDSI Trainer – “Accelerating Civil Society’s Role in Securing Education for All in Madhesh, Karnali and Sudurpaschim Provinces”, under the ‘ACCESS’ Programme

Position: Provincial GEDSI Trainer
Location: Working areas Sudurpaschim Province (Kanchanpur, Achham, and Bajura) based on Achham
Duration: One Year (with possibility of extension)
Reports to: Project Lead- ACCESS
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage operational aspects of the project, ensuring compliance with financial, administrative, logistics, communication, safeguarding, and procurement policies of NDWA and lead organizations.
- Lead, guide, and support the project team to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects, adaptive management, alignment with governmental programs, and the effective mainstreaming of GEDSI, inclusivity, and safeguarding across all activities.
- Coordinate with consortium partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure timely production of deliverables, clear communication, representation in forums, and collaboration for optimal project impact.
- Serve as the provincial focal point for communication, advocacy, networking, donor engagement, and community relations, enhancing project visibility and influencing policy dialogue.
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes by coordinating assessments, analyzing program implementation, and applying findings to improve project outcomes and value for money.
- Facilitate capacity building of CSOs and local partners, promoting inclusive education methodologies, transparency, and accountability through training and material development.
- Ensure safeguarding compliance by embedding protection policies across all project stages, promoting awareness within teams, and effectively managing risk, case handling, and emergency response.
- Conduct risk mapping and implement mitigation measures, including safeguarding and risk analysis at the field level.
- Help ensure systematic capture of sector-specific results, outputs, outcomes, and impact through effective M&E.
- Implement planned activities, review progress, prepare reports, and document success stories and case studies.
- Produce and submit timely written activity and outcome reports to Project Coordinator.
- Ensure safeguarding of children, vulnerable groups, persons with disabilities, and conflict-affected populations.
- Support NDWA monitoring, program departments, partners, and external evaluation teams to ensure ongoing monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social science/work, rural development, or relevant field, with at least 4 years of demonstrated work experience with an I/NGO in the following areas:
- Knowledge and engagement/implementation of SESP, inclusive education, GEDSI, engagement in provincial AIN, clusters, and relevant forums, working/handling CSOs, and partnership skills will be value-added.
- Knowledge of working modality with MUAN, NARMIN, provincial-level GIEN, SMC, and PTA federations, and their mobilization
- CBOs/CSOs capacity development and sub-granting; improving coordination in the civil society space and with key community and LG/GoN stakeholders; community engagement/participation and local government mobilization.
- Technical capacities to implement inclusive education methodologies, approaches, mobilization, including strengthening of CSOs, Transparency, and accountability of education plans across the Local Government
- Proven experience in Girls and Inclusive Education Network across three layers of the Government/school
- Local language proficiency will be a plus.
- Good verbal and written English and Nepali language
- Experience working with diverse Civil Society Organizations and their meaningful participation in inclusive governance.
- Outstanding communications and networking, and reporting skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of gender and social norms in program design and implementation.
