The Second Moot Court Competition on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has successfully concluded after 18 days of intensive learning, advocacy, and courtroom simulation.
Organized jointly by Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) and Nepal Law Campus, the competition brought together around 200 participants who competed through different rounds of the moot court process, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of disability rights, legal provisions, and access to justice for persons with disabilities.
The competition provided an important platform for aspiring law students and young legal professionals to deepen their understanding of disability rights and develop practical skills in legal research, case analysis, advocacy, and courtroom presentation. It also highlighted the importance of building a justice system that is inclusive and responsive to the rights and needs of persons with disabilities.
The winners of the competition were announced and awarded cash prizes during the closing ceremony held on 10 September 2026. The ceremony brought together participants, organizers, legal professionals, disability rights advocates, and partner organizations to celebrate the successful completion of the competition and recognize the efforts of all participants.
The competition was supported by CBM Global Nepal and FWDN Nepal, whose collaboration contributed to strengthening disability-inclusive legal education and promoting greater awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities among future legal professionals.
The successful completion of the Second Moot Court Competition marks another important step toward encouraging young lawyers and law students to engage with disability rights and contribute to a more accessible, equitable, and inclusive justice system in Nepal.
