Background:
The Nepal Disabled Women Association (NDWA) is a leading non-governmental organization established to protect and promote the human rights of women and girls with disabilities across Nepal. It focuses on empowering its members through advocacy, capacity building, and inclusive livelihood programs to ensure their meaningful participation in all levels of society. NDWA works closely with government and stakeholders to eliminate discrimination and create a barrier-free environment for the socio-economic independence of women with disabilities.
NDWA implementing Financial Autonomy and Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities through Agriculture (FAIDA) project consortium with CBM Global Disability Inclusion, SAPPROS and Kheti in the 7 municipalities of Chitwan District at local level and Kathmandu at Central level. FAIDA aiming to combined demand- and supply-side interventions in Chitwan District will contribute to improved financial health of persons with disabilities – to enjoy basic financial rights; control their own finances and have access to client-centric services. They will develop sustainable livelihoods and improved resilience to shocks, and thereby start to break out of the cycle of poverty and disability.
Objectives:
Visual storytelling is crucial for showcasing the success of Persons with Disabilities in agriculture and advocating for accessible physical/digital banking infrastructure. This assignment focuses on visual impact and policy advocacy. The main objective of this assignment is producing and broadcast television programs and success story documentaries that highlight the economic potential of persons with disabilities and advocate for simplified KYC and accessible services.
Scope of Work:
- Produce 2 high-impact television talk shows or panel discussions.
- Produce 5 short documentary-style success stories (2-3 minutes) featuring entrepreneurs and climate-smart farmers with disabilities as well as focusing on intersectionality (women, Dalit, and rural Persons with Disabilities), Barriers (physical, communication, attitudinal and Institutional) and the importance of inclusive banking and financial process for persons with disabilities.
- Ensure Sign Language Interpretation and Captions are included in all video content.
Expected Deliverables:
- High-definition (HD) video files of all programs/stories.
- Prior notification of broadcast dates and time slots for all segments.
- Post-broadcast reach and engagement report.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered TV production firm or media house with professional audio-visual equipment.
- Experience in producing inclusive content with a focus on GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion).
Important General Terms
- Intellectual Property Rights: All materials, scripts, designs, and raw footage produced under this assignment shall remain the sole property of the NDWA/ FAIDA Project. The consultant/firm shall have no right to use these materials for other purposes without written consent.
- Prior Notification: For all television broadcasts, the firm must provide a detailed broadcasting schedule (Date and Time) at least 3 days in advance to the project office for monitoring purposes.
