On January 18-21, 2025, Nepal Disabled Women Association conducted Training of Trainers (ToT) on Economic Justice, Feminist Values, Human Rights/Disability Rights, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) at Penson Vasana, Kathmandu. The major objective of the training is to enhance participants’ understanding of economic justice from a feminist and disability-inclusive perspective, build shared understanding and practice of feminist values, leadership, and intersectionality, strengthen knowledge on human rights, disability rights, and national and international legal frameworks, and equip trainers with skills to prevent, identify, respond to, and advocate against GBV affecting women and girls with disabilities. A total of 23 participants from Kathmandu, Kavre and Gorkha participants participated in the event. The training was led by Meena Paudel and Nirmala Dhital.
The sessions were conducted through participatory and feminist learning approaches, group discussions, experience sharing and practical exercises and action planning methods. Accessible and inclusive training materials were used in the training. The training included topics like feminist values and intersectionality, economic justice, human rights and disability rights, and gender-based violence.
